Justin Smith

Physical Education, Music, and Mathematics

My name is Justin Smith and I have been a teacher for…let’s see here…7 months now and it’s awesome. This year I will be teaching Physical Education, High School Band, 7th Grade Math and K-3rd Grade Music. I was a camp instructor at the Big Island Adventure Camp at AZ this past summer for 10 weeks straight and that equates to 5 actually years of teaching. I know because I checked online. I am about to steal a quote from a song recorded by George Benson in the 70’s but became a global hit when it was re-recorded by the late Whitney Houston. It pretty much sums up my personal philosophy on teaching.

“I believe the children are our future; Teach them well and let them lead the way; Show them all the beauty they possess inside; Give them a sense of pride to make it easier; Let the children’s laughter remind us how we used to be.”

I’m looking forward to an awesome 2015-16 school year with your awesome kids on this awesome campus with a ridiculously awesome staff on this awesome island while I try to figure out how many times I can continually use awesome in this awesome sentence. 3 BIG CLAPS!!! (awesome) AZ!!!!

For my past experience, I forgot to mention I graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Accounting in 2001. I was blessed with the opportunity to work in the NFL for 4 years upon my graduation and after that I became a Ninja for 7 years until AZ snuck up on me and put me in a bear hug.
