  7. Establishes and models the working culture of the board of the organization
  8. Represents the organization in public forums

Vice-President

  1. Attends all full board meetings, and chairs the meeting if the president is absent
  2. Serves on the executive committee
  3. Chairs one committee
  4. Carries out special assignments as requested by the president
  5. Participates as a vital part of the board’s leadership

Treasurer

An individual that leads an organization in fulfilling fiduciary responsibilities.  At AZ the treasurer…

  1. Attends all full board meetings
  2. Serves on the executive committee
  3. Chairs the finance committee, which analyzes AZ Academy’s financial situation and makes budget recommendations to the full board
  4. Reviews and presents financial reports to the board
  5. Coordinates with other board members to produce a strategic plan that is congruent with the financial resources of AZ Academy
  6. Represents the board in IRS audits and other reviews of AZ Academy’s finances

Secretary

An individual that prepares meeting minutes and collates board documents for an organization.  At AZ the secretary…

  1. Attends all full board meetings
  2. Serves on the executive committee
  3. Chairs one committee
  4. Maintains all board records and ensures their accuracy and safety
  5. Prepares board minutes (focusing on outcomes, motions, and votes without dwelling on extended discussions) and presents minutes to      the full board for review and correction
  6. Organizes and maintains all supplementary documents that accompany committee reports
  7. Provides notice of meetings to the board when necessary
